成果简介NOVELTY - The system has a split part (108) detachably coupled to a connecting link (106). An accommodation area (110) is positioned below the split part and housed inside the connecting link. The accommodation area is formed wth a hole allowing a rat to enter in a wheel (112) formed in cylindrical shape. A pair of horizontal beams (114) is positioned parallel to the accommodation area and housing a set of infrared sensors mounted at a top portion of each horizontal beam to record activity rhythm of the rat at the accommodation area. A base, infrared vertical columns, a connecting link, the split part, the accommodation area, the wheel, the pair of horizontal beams and the infrared sensors are integrated as a single unit to form the system. The connecting link is made of a material selected from a group of materials of plexi glass material, stainless steel, cast iron, brass, duralumin and amalgams. USE - Activity wheel-maze system for monitoring and recording free and spontaneous activity rhythm of a rat. ADVANTAGE - The system is equipped with infrared sensors to record and track the activity of the rat for more days. The system is cost effective and simple in structure.
