USE - The primer pair is useful for introducing mutation into nucleotide sequence for producing a functional translation initiation factor eIF4E2 of potato with a p59s mutation. ADVANTAGE - The primer pair produces functional translation initiation factor eIF4E2 of potato (Solanum tuberosum) with a p59s mutation that disrupts its interaction with a wide spectrum of viral genome-linked protein (VPg) variants of potato virus Y.
