成果简介	NOVELTY - The apparatus has a set of culture trays (20a, 20b, 20c) nested in a frame at a predetermined distance spaced apart from each other. Each culture tray is configured to store a bed of an organic compost for rearing worms. A water reservoir (25) is configured to be in water communication with the frame. A first conduit (30a) is configured to facilitate water communication between the water reservoir and the culture trays to enable flow of water from the water reservoir to the culture tray. A second conduit (30b) is configured to facilitate water communication between the culture tray and the water reservoir to discharge water from the culture tray to the water reservoir. An actuator (35) is configured to pump water at a predetermined pressure range to the first conduit to circulate a predetermined level of water within the tray to facilitate growth of the worms in the tray. USE - Apparatus for rearing worms i.e. tubifex, used as aquafeed for finfish larvae and ornamental fishes. ADVANTAGE - The worm rearing apparatus provides a greater number of worms without any seasonal change impact. It is convenient to operate, easy to maintain, compact, consumes comparatively less time, provides environmentally friendly harvesting of worms, and is scalable.
