| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The reactor system has comprises reactor shell (1), which is hollow from the inside and is cylindrical in shape. The reactor has an agitator in arrangement for mixing the waste that aids in heating the waste uniformly. The agitator with waste heat (from flue gas) recovery system, the flue gases (3) from the burner heat the reactor shell from outside by flowing through spiral channels (4) between reactor shell and the outer casing (5). The flue gases after heating the reactor shell from the outside, enter the hollow outer central shaft (6) and hollow mixing blades (7) of the agitator, which then heat the waste from inside as the blades containing hot flue gases rotate and mix the waste. The flue gases after heating the waste from inside enter the hollow shaft (8) concentric to the agitator shaft from the bottom and escape the reactor shell from the top portion. USE - Reactor system used to convert the agricultural waste lying in farmlands into valuable product i.e. torrefied coal that can be co-fired efficiently in coal-based power plants. ADVANTAGE - The torrefied can replace traditional biomass-based fuels such as pellets or briquettes due to its significantly higher calorific value and energy density and can replace fossil fuels used in most of the cement, steel & brick making industries. The reactor system prevent fire in the farmlands caused by burning stubble or agro-waste and prevent this environmental hazard. The system convert agro-waste or waste biomass into biochar that can be used in farms as a fertilizer and reduce the use of chemical-based fertilizers. The system reduces the usage of fossil coal and increase the use of carbon-neutral renewable fuel in coal-based power plants and industries by replacement of fossil coal with agro-waste generated torrefied coal. The arrangement of the reactor system makes the torrefaction process unique due to the fact that it enables the usage of flue gases to heat the shell from the inside. This helps to recover significant heat from flue gases and thus reduces the external fuel requirement. Also, heating the raw material from inside aids in uniform and faster heating due to the availability of higher internal surface area in contact with the feedstock to be heated, as compared to other technologies available in the market. The higher surface area (of hollow blades mounted on agitator shaft or hollow blades mounted on agitator shaft, which helps the heat to be dissipated more uniformly across the entire volume inside the reactor shell. The farm fire due to burning of agro residue and stubble, i.e., environmental hazard is eliminated, farmers' income is increased to an extent by selling farm waste or torrified coal depending on the business model, greenhouse gas emissions by coal-fired power plants are reduced by replacing 10-20 % coal with torrified charcoal which is a form of renewable energy and does not artificially add carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, and replacing fossil fuels such as coal with torrified coal derived from farm waste in the steel, cement & brick-making industry will help to reduce emissions.
