DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for spray drying to prepare active materials for rechargeable batteries, method comprising the following steps: a. feeding a first mixture at a first predetermined flow rate and heated air at a second predetermined flow rate, and mixing to obtain a second mixture; b. passing second mixture through a plurality of fins to create a vortex flow, followed by spray drying at a predetermined temperature to obtain a coarse powder of the active material and air containing fine powder of the active material; c. separating coarse powder of the active material from air containing fine powder of the active material to obtain a separated coarse material; d. separating air and fine powder of the active material, to obtain fine powder of the active material; and e. scrubbing air using at least one fluid media to obtain a clean exhaust air and treated fluid media.
