| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The membrane-free non-flowing alcohol fuel cell ensures absence of the need for continuous pumping of fuel and oxidizer through the element, and creates the interface between the fuel and oxidizer as a result of the stratification of the system into two phases such as an upper alcohol phase containing ethanol and a certain amount of hydrophobic liquid, and a lower salt phase, containing a predominantly hydrophobic liquid, resulting in the oxidation of ethanol at the anode by hydrogen hydroxide diffusing from the salt layer as a result of the oxygen reduction reaction at the cathode. The electrons are formed during the reaction pass through an external electrical load and reach the cathode, for creating an electric current.
