成果简介	NOVELTY - Apparatus (100) comprises multiple discs (102) configured with an electrically insulating material are provided with a minimum two holes equidistant from a centre of the discs, a pair of guide rods (104) configured to be inserted in the holes of the discs, tube (106) configured with an electrically insulating material to receive a specimen (112), multiple electrically conductive discs (110) configured to entrap the specimen between the discs, and one projected electrode (108) is configured to provide an electric supply to the specimen from both ends of the tube for flash sintering of the specimen by retaining a lead oxide in the specimen. USE - Apparatus for double flash sintering of piezoceramic material. ADVANTAGE - The apparatus is configured for a single flash sintering of the specimen to reduce the lead oxide and the alkali oxide loss to an environment significantly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for double flash sintering of piezoceramic material, which involves: (1) placing an apparatus in a furnace and heating the furnace gradually to a temperature between 700-900℃; (2) applying an electric field between 1-1000V/cm and passing a current through the specimen (112) with a current density between 1-1000 mA/mm2 for 1-1000 seconds; (3) performing a flash sintering in a current control mode or in a voltage control mode for first cycle of flash sintering; (4) reversing polarity of the electrodes to perform a double flash sintering process which comprises second cycle of flash sintering; (5) repeating the steps, 1 to 3 in second cycle to complete the double flash sintering process; and (6) removing a sintered specimen as a final product from the apparatus.
