DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for accessing a battery pack of an electric vehicle comprises actuating a housing storing the battery pack, from a first position to a second position through a rack-and-pinion setup, where the first position corresponds to a position of the housing being attached to a body frame of the electric vehicle and second position corresponds to a position where the housing is displaced vertically downward from the body frame of the electric vehicle and actuating a container of a plurality of containers slidably mounted in the housing to an extended position when the housing in the second position, to access the battery pack of the electric vehicle.
