ADVANTAGE - The antimicrobial nano-composite can be applied for packaging of mushroom after harvesting and also for other perishable food products or products prone to rampant spoilage such as whole fruits, cut fruits, vegetables, dairy products, bakery products and meat products. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method of making a polymeric antimicrobial nanocomposite which involves (i) preparing a polymer matrix; and (ii) contacting the polymer matrix with a formulation with 1 wt.% of nanoclay loaded with an antimicrobial agent. |
