METHOD FOR INTRAOPERATIVE CYTOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF SENTINEL LYMPH NODE STATUS IN PATIENTS WITH STAGE 1 ENDOMETRIAL CANCER

成果简介NOVELTY - Invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology and pathological anatomy, and can be used for intraoperative cytological assessment of the status of a sentinel lymph node (SLN) in patients with endometrial cancer of clinical stage 1. That is ensured by macroscopic examination of lymph nodes. Further, serially-stepped sections of the lymph node are performed. Biological material is divided into parallel plates with thickness of 2 mm, wherein sections of the lymph node are carried out depending on its configuration: in case of a "longitudinal" configuration of a lymph node, the section is perpendicular to the longest axis of the lymph node; with "oval" or "coronal" configuration, when the axes of the lymph node do not differ in length, the section is carried out along the equatorial plane of the lymph node. On each side of the section surface, 2–4 smears are made depending on the size of the lymph node. In the presence of dense areas in the structure of the SLN, scraping is additionally performed from the surface of the node. Cytological preparations are stained using Leukodif 200 rapid blood smear staining kit for 15 seconds. Preparations are examined using a Zeiss Axio Scope A1 with at least 2 specialists. If observing one or more complexes in cytological preparations, as well as discrete tumor cells from two to five, SLN is considered to be metastatic. USE - Medicine. ADVANTAGE - Invention enables the operative intraoperative assessment of the status of the sentinel lymph nodes without loss of the biological material and with the possibility of its further histological and immunohistochemical examination. 2 cl, 4 dwg
