成果简介NOVELTY - Preparing chitosan-coated metallic nanoparticle comprises: (a) preparing chitosan solution by dissolving 700 mg chitosan in 1% glacial acetic acid; (b) preparing metal precursor solution by dissolving 0.05 M zinc nitrate in 100 mL distilled water, and stirring the mixture; (c) adding 10 mL chitosan solution dropwise to a precursor solution of step (b); (d) heating 15 mL leaf extract obtained from leaves of Lantana camaraand Rhamnus triquetrain water bath; (e) adding leaf extract to the solution of step (a) and magnetically stirring; (f) adding 1M solution of sodium hydroxide to the solution of step (e) and stirring, resulting in a color change of the mixture; (g) leaving obtained suspension undisturbed overnight in a dark environment to obtain precipitate; (h) centrifuging the precipitate at 4000 revolutions/minute to obtain pellet; (i) washing the pellet with distilled water and drying in oven; and (j) transferring dried pellet into a clean bottle for storage. USE - Method for preparing chitosan-coated metallic nanoparticle exhibiting antibacterial and antifungal activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, and Rosellinia necatrix, and for seed germination and plant growth. Test details are described but no results given. ADVANTAGE - The method provides chitosan-coated metallic nanoparticle having improved stability and biocompatibility with high purity, without using toxic chemicals and solvents, in simple, environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner, and the nanoparticle ensures improved shelf life of cash crops. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing chitosan-coated metallic nanoparticle comprises: (a) preparing chitosan solution by dissolving 700 mg chitosan in 1% glacial acetic acid; (b) preparing metal precursor solution by dissolving 0.05 M zinc nitrate in 100 mL distilled water, and stirring the mixture at 80℃ for 30 minutes; (c) adding 10 mL chitosan solution dropwise to a precursor solution of step (b); (d) heating 15 mL leaf extract obtained from leaves of Lantana camaraand Rhamnus triquetrain a water bath at 45℃ for 30 minutes; (e) adding leaf extract to the solution of step (a) and magnetically stirring for 1 hour; (f) adding 1M solution of sodium hydroxide to the solution of step (e) and stirring for 2 hours, resulting in a color change of the mixture; (g) leaving obtained suspension undisturbed overnight in a dark environment to facilitate the formation of precipitate; (h) centrifuging the precipitate at 4000 revolutions/minute for 40 minutes to obtain pellet; (i) washing the pellet with distilled water to remove impurities and drying in oven at 60℃ for 12 hours; and (j) transferring dried pellet into a clean bottle for further storage.
