成果简介NOVELTY - Preparing a chitosan coated metallic nanoparticles involves (a) dissolving 700 mg chitosan in 1 wt.% glacial acetic acid (GAA); (b) dissolving 0.05 M copper sulfate (CuSO4) in 100 ml distilled water and stirring the mixture; (c) adding 10 ml chitosan solution dropwise to a precursor solution; (d) heating 15 ml leaf extract from leaves of Lantana camarain a water bath; (e) adding leaves extract to the solution and magnetically stirring; (f) adding 1M solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to the solution followed by stirring for an additional period of 2 hours, resulting in a color change of the mixture; (g) the suspension is left undisturbed overnight in a dark environment to facilitate the formation of precipitates; (h) suspension is further centrifuged, resulting in the formation of a pellet; (i) washing pellet with distilled water to remove impurities and drying in the oven; (j) transferring the dried pellet obtained into a clean bottle for further storage. USE - Method for preparing a chitosan coated metallic nanoparticles, for treating microbial diseases, having antibacterial, anticandidal and antifungal activity against various pathogenic bacteria and fungi, and used in industrial engineering, medicine, and agriculture, for treating various ailments, including colds, cough, skin infections, and digestive issues. The anticandidal activity of nanoparticles was tested against Escherichia coli. The result showed that (I) exhibited zone of inhibition (mm) of 18.33±0.57735 mm. ADVANTAGE - The nanoparticle is environmentally friendly, uses plant-based materials, is cost-effective, biocompatible, scalable, and safe, biocompatible, biodegradable, non-toxic, has high purity, high stability, high yield, high stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing a chitosan coated metallic nanoparticles involves (a) chitosan solution is prepared by dissolving 700 mg chitosan in 1 wt.% glacial acetic acid (GAA); (b) preparing metal precursor solution by dissolving 0.05 M copper sulfate (CuSO4) in 100 ml distilled water and stirring the mixture at 80 °C for 30 minutes; (c) adding 10 ml chitosan solution dropwise to a precursor solution; (d) heating 15 ml leaf extract from leaves of Lantana camarain a water bath at 45 °C for 30 minutes; (e) adding leaves extract to the solution and magnetically stirring for 1 hour; (f) further adding 1M solution of sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) to the solution followed by stirring for an additional period of 2 hours, resulting in a color change of the mixture; (g) the suspension is left undisturbed overnight in a dark environment to facilitate the formation of precipitates; (h) suspension is further centrifuged at 4,000 rpm for 40 minutes, resulting in the formation of a pellet; (i) washing pellet with distilled water to remove impurities and drying in the oven for 12 hours at 60 °C; (j) transferring the dried pellet obtained into a clean bottle for further storage.
