| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Preparing chitosan coated metallic nanoparticles comprises preparing chitosan solution by dissolving 700 mg of chitosan in 1% glacial acetic acid (GAA); preparing metal precursor solution by dissolving 0.05 M copper sulfate in 100 mL of distilled water and stirring the mixture at 80 ℃ for 30 minutes; adding 10 mL of chitosan solution dropwise to a precursor solution; heating 15 mL of leaf extract taken from leaves of Lantana camara and Rhamnus triquetra in a water bath at 45 ℃ for 30 minutes; adding leaves extract to the solution and magnetically stirring for 1 hour; adding 1M solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to the solution, stirring for 2 hours, resulting in a color change of the mixture; leaving the suspension undisturbed overnight in a dark environment to obtain precipitates; centrifuging suspension at 4,000 rotations/minute for 40 minutes to obtain pellet, washing with distilled water to remove impurities and drying in oven for 12 hours at 60 ℃; transferring the dried pellet into a clean bottle for further storage. USE - Method of preparing chitosan coated metallic nanoparticles for treating microbial diseases with antibacterial and antifungal activity. The antifungal activity of synthesized nanoparticles and pure extracts against Candida albicans, sample 3 (CuO-CH-Rham-Meth NPs) showed the greatest inhibition zone (23.33 mm) among the nanoparticles, while sample C (Rham-Meth) showed the greatest inhibition zone (19.33 mm) among the pure extracts further depicted in figures 12-14 and table:03. These results suggest that nanoparticles may be more effective than pure extracts at inhibiting the 20 growth of Candida albicans. ADVANTAGE - None given. |
