成果简介NOVELTY - Synthesizing copper-doped zinc oxide (Cu-ZnO) nanoparticles comprises: (a) mixing 0.5M zinc acetate and starch in 20ml distilled water to form a mixture; (b) stirring the mixture for 20 minutes; (c) adding 1M sodium hydroxide dropwise to the mixture while constantly stirring; (d) continuing to stir the reaction mixture for an additional 30 minutes; (e) centrifuging and filtering the mixture to obtain a precipitate; (f) washing the precipitate multiple times with deionized water; (g) drying the precipitate in a hot air oven at 60-80℃; (h) heating the dried precipitate in a muffle furnace at 700℃ for 5 hours to obtain ZnO nanoparticles; (i) adding cupric acetate to the zinc acetate and starch mixture, where the cupric acetate is added in 2.5, 5, and 10 wt.% concentrations to obtain Cu-ZnO nanoparticles with different copper doping levels. USE - Method for synthesizing copper-doped zinc oxide (Cu-ZnO) nanoparticles, which is having antibacterial and photocatalytic activity. ADVANTAGE - The method provides excellent photocatalytic results of Cu-doped ZnO NPs evaluated against methylene blue (MB) dye.
