成果简介NOVELTY - Composite photocatalyst. USE - Composite photocatalyst used for the removal of noxious dyes such as bismuth-rich oxybromide and nitrogen-rich graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N5/Bi24O31Br10). ADVANTAGE - The photocatalyst exhibit a photocatalytic activity of at least 90 wt.% of the noxious dye in 60 minutes, exhibits a recyclability of at least four times without losing stability and catalytic activity, created by a direct Z-scheme heterojunction, facilitates the separation of photo-induced carriers and boosts UV-Visible light absorption, easily recoverable by straightforward centrifugation, recycled at least four times without noticeably losing stability or catalytic activity, provides a significant solution to address the emerging environmental problems of organic dye pollution in water. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing a composite photocatalyst, which involves (a) dissolving 2 mmol of Bismuth nitrate pentahydrate and 2 mmol of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in 50 ml of distilled water (100), (b) agitating the solution for 30 minutes, and adding 1M sodium hydroxide solution dropwise until pH 9 is reached, (c) adding a specific mass ratio of g-C3N5to the solution and continuously stirring for 30 minutes, (d) transferring the solution to a 100 ml Teflon-lined stainless-steel autoclave and heating it for 13 hours at 160 °C, (e) cooling the autoclave to room temperature, collecting the precipitates, rinsing them at least five times with distilled water, and drying them for eight hours at 60 °C, and (f) grinding the sample with a mortar and pestle, and storing it in an airtight container.
