| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - A nucleoside derived hydrogel comprises silver ion (Ag+) induced hydrogel of boronate esters of cytidine having entangled three-dimensional network of thin thread like fibers in gel matrix. USE - Nucleoside derived hydrogel for fighting against multi drug resistant leishmania parasites, and treating cutaneous leishmaniasis. ADVANTAGE - The nucleoside derived hydrogel has high hydrophilicity, biocompatibility, and cell adhesion property, antileishmanial activity (IC50) value of 263.3-594 μg/mL after 72 hours of incubation, when evaluated against Leishmania major promastigotes, and, is non-toxic towards murine macrophage cell line or normal human kidney epithelial cells, and does not have cytotoxic effect on human cell lines, and the hydrogel can be prepared in simple manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for manufacturing nucleoside derived hydrogel, which comprises: (i) providing cytidine, phenylboronic acid and silver ion including silver acetate in the molar ratio of 1:1:0.25-1 in an aqueous suspension; (ii) heating the aqueous suspension at 50-60℃ to obtain a clear solution by avoiding over heating; (iii) cooling the resulting solution to 30℃ and storing by avoiding light; and (iv) allowing the resulting solution to stand for a period of 2 days at 30℃ to obtain hydrogel with pH of ~5.5. |
