| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Method of fabricating a near-net shaped zirconium diboride -silicon carbide (ZrB2-SiC) composite conical nosecone by hot pressing, involves ball milling of a mixture of ZrB2and SiC powder in a ratio of 80:20 using tungsten carbide balls for 24 hours (h); drying the slurry in a rotating evaporator at 80 °C and ball milling the dried slurry; loading the powder mixture into a graphite die using graphite foil, putting a graphite spacer on the powder, and covering the graphite die with a graphite top lid; applying an axial load to the powder to obtain pressure up to 30 Mega Pascal (MPa) while heating up the powder to 2100 °C under a vacuum of 10-5 millibars (mbar) at a controlled heating rate of 10 °C/minutes (min); cooling the furnace at a controlled rate of 2-5 °C/min to reach room temperature; and removing the assembled part and nosecone from the graphite die and obtaining a final shape ZrB2-SiC composite nosecone. USE - Method of fabricating a near-net shaped zirconium diboride -silicon carbide composite conical nosecone by hot pressing useful in ultra high-temperature hypersonic aerospace. ADVANTAGE - The ZrB2-SiC composite that exhibits bending strength between 350-400 MPa and compressive strength 900-1000 MPa. The density of composite is 96-97% by theoretical.
