成果简介	NOVELTY - Obtaining foam glass with high content of copper ions, which, due to known fungicidal activity of copper ions, can be used in various fields: plant growing, construction industry, landscape design. Foam glass is obtained by foaming at temperature of 900 °C an initial charge consisting of: 85–92 wt.% of glass wastes subjected to fine grinding, 2 wt.% of carbonate blowing agent pre-impregnated with 5% aqueous solution of copper salt, not less than 3 wt.% of additional amount of copper compounds (in terms of copper), which in the process of thermal decomposition are capable of releasing gaseous substances, 3 wt.% of an additional foaming additive—sodium nitrate. Foam glass contains 10 wt.% of copper ions and having high water absorption, can be recommended for use in plant growing as an additive to substrates, as well as for use in landscape design. Another foam glass containing 3 wt.% of copper ions and having low water absorption, can be recommended for use in construction industry as heat insulation material or additive to various construction materials (concrete, plaster, etc.).
