成果简介NOVELTY - Extracting free sugars, pectin methyl esterase enzyme and low methoxy pectin from fruit/vegetable wastes sequentially, involves: (a) extracting water-soluble free sugars with water washed peel samples from the fruit waste samples; (b) extracting pectin methyl esterase enzyme with pre-processed peels from the water washed peel samples obtained in step (a); and (c) extracting low methoxy pectin through hydrothermal processing from the preprocessed peels obtained in step (b). USE - Method for extracting free sugars, pectin methyl esterase enzyme and low methoxy pectin from fruit/vegetable wastes sequentially. ADVANTAGE - The method shows environment-friendly, sustainable, and economical biorefinery process to extract multiple valuable commercial biomolecules from fruit/vegetable waste generated by fruit/vegetable processing industries. The method utilizes the ultrafiltration process to concentrate the crude pectin solution for reducing 80% ethanol requirements in the pectin extraction process.
