USE - Electrochemical biosensor system used for detecting bacteria such as Leptospira for diagnosis of leptospirosis. ADVANTAGE - The electrochemical biosensor system provide rapid detection and differentiation of leptospiral infection to provide timely clinical treatment, etiologic investigation, and disease control. The system has simple structure, and is highly sensitive, selective, and easy-to-use assay as needed for Leptospira screening. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for preparing an electrochemical biosensor system, which involves: (1) assembling a counter electrode, working electrode, and reference electrode; (2) washing the working electrode, wherein the working electrode isa screen printed glassy carbon electrode; (3) electrodepositing nanoparticles on the surface of the washed screen-printed glassy carbon electrode; and (4) fabricating cysteamine followed by a lipopolysaccharide to obtain the electrochemical biosensor system, where the electrochemical biosensor system provides a detection platform for Leptospira, cysteamine is present in an amount of 213 mM, lipopolysaccharide is present in an amount of 100 nM, and the nanoparticles are present is present in an amount of 0.25 mM. |
