成果简介NOVELTY - The method for preparing a hydrophilic thin film composite membrane involves: forming a support layer utilizing polyethersulfone, poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline), and goethite nanoparticles; and depositing polyamide active layer upon the support layer for forward osmosis applications. USE - Method for preparing a hydrophilic thin film composite membrane for forward osmosis observe high water flux and reduced structural parameter (claimed), and in water purification. ADVANTAGE - The sequence of steps culminates in the attainment of the final membrane structure with enhanced hydrophilicity along with improved mechanical strength. The membrane enables selective water transport while inhibiting the passage of solutes. This selective separation process results in improved separation efficiency. The hydrophilic polyamide active layer can enhance the hydrophilicity of the membrane surface. This attribute promotes efficient water transport across the membrane, contributing to higher water flux rates and osmotic process performance. A well-designed support layer contributes to the overall mechanical strength of the membrane. The thin-film composite forward osmosis process that can operate with lower energy requirements compared to some traditional separation methods.
