| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Organic-oil integrated poly (DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticle, comprises Syzygium aromaticum; folic acid; and eugenol; where the nanoparticle is integrated with folic acid and loaded with eugenol in a ratio selected from 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3; the eugenol is extracted from the herbal plant Syzygium aromaticum; the nanoparticle exhibit a cytotoxic effect of up to 21.70%. USE - Organic-oil integrated poly (DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticle for providing antioxidant, antiinflammatory and anti-cancer effects (claimed); used for cancer therapy for treating breast cancer; used in drug delivery and biomedical research. The ability of nanoparticles for anti-inflammatory activity was tested by bovine serum albumin (BSA) assay using in-vitro method. The result showed that the nanoparticles has IC50value of 23.74 µg/ml. ADVANTAGE - The nanoparticle exhibits a high drug entrapment efficiency of 87.51%, zeta potential of -32.0 mV and an antioxidant potential of 85.28%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a process for preparation of the PLGA nanoparticle, comprising; (a) dissolving PLGA in 10 ml dichloromethane (DCM) to form a solution; (b) solubilizing 1wt.vol.% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) in 40 ml distilled water along with 40 ml DCM to form a solution; (c) mixing both solutions to form oil-in-water emulsion; (d) cooling and sonicating the emulsion for 20 minutes; (e) diluting the oil-in-water emulsion with distilled water using magnetic stirring; (f) centrifuging at 12,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) rpm for 30 minutes and collecting the pellet; and (g) freezing and storing the nanoparticle at 4 °C in an airtight bottle. |
