成果简介NOVELTY - Shell shaped carbon capturing unit comprises set of concentric twin tubes, i.e., an outer tube (202) and an inner tube (204) approximately positioned at the center of the carbon capturing unit. A movable catalyst bed in the outer tube to generate fresh carbon black catalyst (218). A reactor tube (116) positioned at the center of the carbon capturing unit within the inner tube of the carbon capturing unit. A first sparger (212) positioned at the lower end of the carbon capturing unit for the entry of methane gas at the lower end and a second sparger positioned at the upper end of the carbon capturing unit for the passage of the hydrogen rich gas stream. A set of cones positioned in the carbon capturing unit for passing the hydrogen gas without creating any pressure in the carbon capturing unit, where a lower cone being connected to the reactor tube and an upper cone being attached to the reactor wall. USE - Shell shaped carbon capturing unit for the continuous pyrolysis of methane to generate carbon. ADVANTAGE - The carbon capturing unit is compact and is easily scalable to any required volume. The carbon capturing unit is easy to install and is also movable on skid. The carbon capturing unit is easy to handle and requires less man-power. The carbon capturing unit has a flexibility of production volumes. The design of the carbon capturing unit helps in building a consistent continuous methane decomposition assemblies to provide hydrogen and carbon black in solid form. The choking of the carbon capturing unit is prevented as there is no carbon coking. The reactor design prevents choking of the reactor as there is no carbon coking. The process of catalytic decomposition generates carbon in solid form.
