成果简介	NOVELTY - Preparing 1-perfluorohexyloctane (I) involves (a) reacting a perfluorohexyl compound (II) with an octene compound (III) in presence of an initiator and in a solvent or its mixture to obtain a perfluorohexyloctane intermediate compound (IV); and (b) reacting the compound (IV) with a metal catalyst, reducing agent and in a solvent or its mixture to obtain the compound (I). USE - Method for preparing 1-perfluorohexyloctane, that used for the treatment of signs and symptoms of dry eye disease. No biological data is given. ADVANTAGE - The preparation of 1-perfluorohexyloctane is simple and robust, is feasible on large scale production with ease of operation and greater yield with higher purity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing 1-perfluorohexyloctane of formula (I), involves (a) reacting a perfluorohexyl compound of formula (II) with an octene compound of formula (III) in presence of an initiator and in a solvent or its mixture to obtain a perfluorohexyloctane intermediate compound of formula (IV); and (b) reacting the compound (IV) with a metal catalyst, reducing agent and in a solvent or its mixture to obtain the compound (I), where X=chlorine, bromine or iodine. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for purification of 1-perfluorohexyloctane (I) by spinning band high vacuum distillation at defined temperature.
