成果简介NOVELTY - Synthesizing mycogenic zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) for enhancing the shelf life of bananas involves culturing a fungal strain for the biosynthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles, preparing a zinc precursor solution in a concentration of 0.01-0.1 M, introducing the fungal biomass into the zinc precursor solution to initiate the formation of ZnO NPs through bioreduction, recovering and drying the ZnO NPs from the reaction mixture, applying the green-synthesized ZnO NPs to bananas by spraying a solution of ZnO NPs in the concentration range of 20 ppm to 100 ppm, monitoring the treated bananas for physiological changes including peel color, weight loss, pH, starch content, and protein content over an incubation period of up to 15 days, where the concentration of 80 ppm is optimized to achieve an extended shelf life of 10 days. USE - Method for synthesizing mycogenic zinc oxide nanoparticles for enhancing the shelf life of bananas. ADVANTAGE - The method provides bananas with extended shelf life and improved nutritional value, and effective prevention against microbial attacks, regulates banana ripening process, eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for the banana industry.
