| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The system has an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) unit (106) for removing dust and particulate matter from air. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma source is configured in a needle geometry, and positioned upstream of the ESP for neutralizing pathogens and allergens in the air. An air outlet (112) expels the disinfected air. Driver-electronics comprises a processor that is coupled with a memory and a communicator. The processor controls the operation of the DBD plasma source to impart an electrical charge to particles passing through a plasma cartridge, and controls the air disinfection process. USE - System for disinfection of air for reducing pathogen loads in air and enhancing local air quality index (AQI) in enclosed living spaces and commercial environment during ARS-COVID-19 pandemic. Can also be used in variety of settings e.g. living rooms, classrooms, offices, and healthcare facilities such as clinics, post-operative care rooms and intensive care unit (ICU). ADVANTAGE - The system removes pathogens and suspended particulate matter from the ambient air, and hence may maintain allergens and infection-causing pathogens away, provides a disinfected environment within the sphere of influence depending on air handling capacity of a device. The system utilizes the DBD plasma in needle geometry with flowing air for the air disinfection so as to utilize the plasma source as the first stage to improve the trapping efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator by imparting a charge to the particles passing through plasma.
