ADVANTAGE - The process is simple, safe, and commercially viable; provide good yield and purity; and utilizes inexpensive raw materials, reagent, and minimum no. of solvents. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing pyridine carboxaldehyde derivative of formula (I), involves: (i) hydrolyzing pyridine derivative of formula (II) to obtain pyridine carboxaldehyde derivative (I). X1-X4=H, and halogen, provided that at least two of X2, X3and X4are halogen. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a pyridine derivative of (II).
