| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Phytobiotic spray formulation comprises 1-3 vol.% lemongrass oil; 2-7 vol.% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA); 0.5-2 vol.% polyethylene glycol (PEG) (Plasticizer); 35-65 vol.% ethanol; and 23-61.5 vol.% water. USE - Phytobiotic spray formulation for reducing spoilage of eggs. ADVANTAGE - The formulation enhances their shelf life upto 21-22 days during ambient storage; reduces spoilage and deterioration caused by microbial activity and other factors, thus minimizing storage losses, and enhance their longevity; extends the shelf life of eggs by leveraging natural phytochemicals with antimicrobial properties; ensures the food security of eggs without spoilage and minimizes the economic losses during egg preservation; coats the entire eggshell surface efficiently, preserves the internal quality of the eggs, and represents a significant advancement in egg preservation technology, thus addressing both economic and health concerns in the egg industry; effectively clogs the pores, preventing microbial contamination and moisture loss. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparation of the said formulation comprising: taking 1-3% phytobiotic essential oil i.e. lemongrass oil and dissolving it in the solvent (water/alcohol) to prepare the phytobiotic solution and storing it in a closed lid container; weighing the PVA accurately on electronic balance and dissolving it in water under continuous stirring on a magnetic stirrer to ensure proper dissolution of the polymer; increasing the stirring speed and lowering the temperature on obtaining the completely dissolved PVA polymer solution; adding ethanol in drop-wise manner and stirring the solution; adding the phytobiotic solution slowly and incrementally to achieve the final concentration of 1-3% under continuous stirring; adding polyethylene glycol (PEG) in drop-wise manner to achieve the final concentration of 0.5-2.0% under continuous stirring; stirring the entire solution for a total duration of 40 minutes from the protocol step ii onwards; sonicating the prepared solution to reduce the particle size and ensuring homogeneity of solution. |
