| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Synthesizing of polylactic acid from whey involves: (a) boiling milk and adding lemon juice in order to obtain coagulated milk, followed by separation of whey from the coagulated milk; (b) filtering the whey using Whatman filter paper to remove impurities from the whey and collecting the filtered whey in a flask, followed by sterilization of the flask in an autoclave at a temperature in the range of 115-125℃ and a pressure of 12-18 psi for a time duration in the range of 10-20 minutes in order to obtain sterilized whey; (c) inoculating the whey with culture of Bifidobacterium species under aseptic conditions in laminar air flow and keeping the flask in a temperature control orbital shaker (Orbitek) under anaerobic conditions at a temperature in the range of 25-40℃ for a time duration of 110-130 hours. USE - Method for synthesizing of polylactic acid from whey. ADVANTAGE - The method does not require expensive chemicals and complicated process, and it is capable of synthesizing the polylactic acid from the by-products released during the synthesis of cheese/ paneer for manufacturing the biofilm/laminates used in packaging of food. The method also use of plastic in order to reduce pollution and increases sustainability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Synthesizing of polylactic acid from whey involves: (a) boiling milk and adding lemon juice in order to obtain coagulated milk, followed by separation of whey from the coagulated milk; (b) filtering the whey using Whatman filter paper to remove impurities from the whey and collecting the filtered whey in a flask, followed by sterilization of the flask in an autoclave at a temperature in the range of 115-125℃ and a pressure of 12-18 psi for a time duration in the range of 10-20 minutes in order to obtain sterilized whey; (c) inoculating the whey with culture of Bifidobacterium species under aseptic conditions in laminar air flow and keeping the flask in a temperature control orbital shaker (Orbitek) under anaerobic conditions at a temperature in the range of 25-40℃ for a time duration of 110-130 hours, followed by centrifuging the flask at stirring speed of 4500-5500 revolution/minute (rpm) for a time duration in the range of 10-20 minutes in a centrifuge in order to obtain a supernatant; (d) filtering the supernatant using a Whatman filter paper to obtain lactic acid containing fermented whey, followed by adding enzyme protease, distilled water, and toluene and keeping in orbital shaker at a temperature of 35-45℃ at stirring speed of 600-700 rpm for a time duration of 90-100 hours to obtain a mixture; (e) adding chloroform to the obtained mixture and incubating at a temperature in the range of 55-65℃ for a time duration of 5-15 minutes, followed by adding distilled water and incubating at room temperature of 5-15 minutes in order to obtain a two-phase solution; and (f) subjecting the two-phase solution to rotary vapourization process in order to obtain the polylactic acid. |
