成果简介	NOVELTY - Preparing pure pentazocine (I) or its salt comprises: (i) reacting benzazocin compound (II) with prenyl chloride (III) in presence of organic base at suitable temperature to obtain reaction mixture; (ii) isolating crude pentazocine; and (iii) purifying the crude pentazocine to obtain pure pentazocine (I). USE - Method for preparing pure pentazocine. ADVANTAGE - The method provides pure pentazocine using prenyl chloride which is easy to handle and less lachrymatory, with high purity of 99.87%, in efficient and cost-effective manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing pure pentazocine of formula (I) or its salt comprises: (i) reacting benzazocin compound of formula (II) with prenyl chloride of formula (III) in presence of organic base at suitable temperature to obtain a reaction mixture; (ii) isolating crude pentazocine; and (iii) purifying the crude pentazocine to obtain pure pentazocine (I); or (a) reacting oxalate salt of pentazocine of formula (Ia) with aqueous ammonia in presence of suitable solvent to obtain a reaction mixture. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: a method for preparing crystalline oxalate salt of pentazocine of formula (Ia), which comprises: (s1) reacting pentazocine with oxalic acid at suitable temperature in presence of suitable solvent to obtain a reaction mixture; and (s2) isolating crystalline oxalate salt of pentazocine (Ia) from the reaction mixture; and a crystalline salt of pentazocine (Ia).
