USE - Glycoconjugate vaccine composition for protecting against Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Salmonella typhimurium, and Salmonella enteritidis (claimed), and improving immunogenicity. Test details are described but no results given. ADVANTAGE - The vaccine composition generates robust serum immunoglobulin G response against both polysaccharide and protein components of the vaccine, and is safe and cost-effective. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the glycoconjugate vaccine composition, which comprises: (a) adding cyanogen bromide to activate the O-specific polysaccharide from a non-typhoidal Salmonellae species by introducing reactive hydrazide groups; (b) conjugating the activated O-specific polysaccharide and an outer membrane protein from Salmonella typhivia adipic acid dihydrazide; and (c) adding at least one base, carrier, adjuvant, and/or excipient.
