ADVANTAGE - The formulation has potential synergistic effect; rapidly disintegrates into the gastrointestinal tract and release the respective nutrients effectively DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing encapsulated beadlet composition comprising (a) mixing the 25-35wt.% carotenoid and 20-60wt.% the plant fiber, a diluent microcrystalline cellulose and pressed through sieve size of 40, and homogenously blended in presence of minimal quantity of alcohol (quantity sufficient); (b) optionally adding water to the wet mass not more than 20% of alcohol added; (c) subjecting the wet mass to an extrusion process to form short length cylindrical strands of extrudes of an average length of 0.5-0.8 cm; (d) spheronizing the cylindrical strands of the wet mass to form spherical spheronized particles of the carotenoid and the plant fiber; (e) drying the spheronized particles to remove the moisture and further solidify the beadlets using methods such as fluid bed drying, vacuum tray drying to obtain the desired beadlet formulations of the carotenoid and the plant fiber. |
