| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Performing plant sex determination in Phoenix dactylifera and Trichosanthes dioica at seedling stage, which involves transferring required quantity of leaf extract in test tube, adding schiff base reagent, 1M sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution, and copper(II) sulfate (CuSO4) solution and mixing properly for 1 minute. The colour change in solution is observed due to reaction with leaf extract. 1M NaOH solution is used in the range from 1-10 ml, more preferably 2-3 ml. USE - Method for performing plant sex determination in Phoenix dactylifera and Trichosanthes dioica at seedling stage. No biological data given. ADVANTAGE - The method allows to determine male and female plant in Phoenix Dactylifera and Trichosanthes Dioca at seedling stage under low cost by colour change, where blood red colour indicates that the plant is female plant and pink colour indicates that the plant is male plant, and increases production and income from good quality of Phoenix Dactylifera and Trichosanthes Dioca. The Phoenix Dactylifera is reported for various pharmacological activities like analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, anticancer, and antioxidant, and Trichosanthes Dioca is used to treat alcoholism and jaundice. |
