METHOD OF PRODUCING MOLD FOR PRESSING ROD MODELS BY SELECTIVE LASER FUSION OF METAL POWDER OF STAINLESS STEEL

成果简介NOVELTY - Invention relates to production of mold for pressing rod models by method of selective laser fusion (SLF) of metal powder of stainless steel “12X18H10T”, and can be used for production of foundry tooling. Manufacturing of parts by SLF technology takes place at the following process parameters: laser radiation power from 147 to 207 W, scanning speed from 450 to 1,000 mm/s, layer thickness from 50 to 60 mcm and scanning pitch from 0.08 to 0.14 mm. Process of parts manufacturing by SLF technology takes place inside a sealed chamber in the medium of protective gas—argon. High mechanical characteristics of workpieces are achieved due to rational properties of metal powder of stainless steel “12X18H10T” and SLF technological process mode parameters according to the required mechanical properties achievement criteria: laser fusion power—218 W, scanning speed—540 mm/s, scanning pitch—0.12 mm and layer thickness—0.06 mm. Ultimate strength (TS) is equal to 1,010 MPa. Low level of residual stresses is achieved due to prediction of deformation of the workpiece and distortions of mold workpieces based on the FEM of the digital model of the TP SLF process. Value of the inherited deformations for making the mold blank is as follows: εx=0.02, εy=0.008, εz=0.1. USE - Additive technologies.
