成果简介	NOVELTY - Topical herbal formulation comprises: 1-20 wt.% Azadirachta indicaextract; 1-20 wt.% Berberis aristataextract; and quantity sufficient of carrier selected from surfactant, cosurfactant, oil, gelling agent and water. USE - Topical herbal formulation for treating hemorrhoid, and diabetes with hemorrhoids. The ability of topical herbal formulation to treat hemorrhoid was tested in Type II diabetic patients (who takes oral hypoglycemic B.D.) aged between 53-58 years of either sex with sign and symptoms of swelling, burning, pain and regular rectum bleeding. The result showed that the formulation (comprising 1 wt.% Azadirachta indicaextract, 1 wt.% Berberis aristataextract, 30 wt.% surfactant, 60 wt.% co-surfactant, 2 wt.% gelling agent, 3 wt.% oil, and quantity sufficient of water) exhibited excellent effects in view of swelling and burning. ADVANTAGE - The formulation is stable and possesses the desired permeability of the active ingredients at the site of action thus treats hemorrhoids.
