成果简介NOVELTY - Preparing titanium oxide nanoparticles involves mixing a titanium precursor in a fluid medium under stirring at a predetermined stirring speed to obtain a mixture; adding de-ionized water to mixture under stirring at predetermined stirring speed to obtain a resultant mixture; maintaining resultant mixture for a first predetermined time period to obtain a slurry comprising solids; separating solids from slurry, followed by washing solids to obtain titanium oxide sol; drying titanium oxide sol at a first predetermined temperature for a second predetermined time period to obtain a dried titanium oxide powder; and subjecting dried titanium oxide powder to heating at a heating rate in the range of 2-5 °C/minutes (min) to attain a second predetermined temperature followed by cooling to a room temperature to obtain titanium oxide nanoparticles USE - Method for preparing titanium oxide nanoparticles used for dye degradation, water purification, photo catalysis and as disinfectant materials. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical and environment friendly and carried out under mild conditions and avoids the use of acids or bases. The titanium oxide nanoparticles have superior photo degradation characteristics and are non-toxic. The titanium oxide nanoparticles are amorphous.
