成果简介NOVELTY - The charger (100) comprises a power factor correction (PFC) unit (104), a direct current (DC)-DC converter (106) and a control unit (108). The PFC unit includes a 110110) that controls boost operation of the PFC. The switching module is connected to PFC that is arranged between a DC voltage terminal and a PFC output terminal. The control unit is communicably coupled to a battery terminal (102) and the PFC, and is configured to sense a voltage at battery terminal. The control unit operates the switching module based on the sensed voltage, where the sensed voltage is compared to a pre-defined voltage to operate switching module. USE - Onboard charger for waking up and charging a battery from a deep discharge state of an electric vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The charger allows better utilization of battery capacity by pushing a lower voltage limit of the battery below an threshold voltage of a battery for battery to enter into deep discharge mode. The charger reduces voltage difference by controlling boost operation of a power factor correction (PFC) unit so as to reduce voltage difference between an input side of the charger and a battery terminal, thus minimizing inrush current in an event of charging while beginning of charging process, and hence achieving uninterrupted and continuous charging process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for waking up and charging a battery from a deep discharge state through an onboard charger.
