成果简介NOVELTY - Composition comprises a nanoparticle conjugate of rifaximin (Rif) and copper oxide (CuO) (Rif-CuO) at a ratio of 1:1, optionally along with excipients. USE - Composition used for treatment of wastewater contaminated with dye substance, such as rhodamine and coomassie brilliant blue (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition is simple, scalable, and capable of achieving high decolorization efficiency without the need for additional chemical additive, cost-effective, and ensures uniform dispersion of the nanoparticles and subsequent filtration to separate the purified water from residual nanoparticles. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: 1. a process for preparing a composition for treatment of wastewater contaminated with dye substance, which involves: (a) combining rifaximin with copper chloride dehydrate and dissolving in ethanol under continuous stirring for a time period of 10 minutes to obtain a solution; (b) dissolving sodium hydroxide in ethanol to obtain a solution by adding it to the solution obtained in step (a) under continuous stirring for a time period of 30 minutes to obtain a light green color solution;(c) filtering the solution obtained in step (b) by drying to obtain a blue-colored rifaximin-copper nanoparticle conjugate; and (d) heating the blue-colored rifaximin-copper nanoparticle conjugate at a temperature ranging from 70-100℃ for a time period of 2 hours, by cooling to obtain a black-colored rifaximin-copper oxide nanoparticle conjugate; 2. a method for decolorizing wastewater containing dye substance, which involves: (a) introducing the composition into wastewater containing dye substance;(b) allowing the composition to interact with the dye substance for a predetermined time to achieve decolorization; and (c) separating the treated water from the nanoparticle residue; and 3. a system for treating dye-contaminated wastewater, which comprises: a treatment chamber configured to receive wastewater containing dye substance, a dispensing mechanism for introducing the composition into the treatment chamber, mixing unit to ensure uniform dispersion of the composition within the wastewater, and a filtration unit for separating the nanoparticle residue from the treated water.
