ADVANTAGE - The method ensures post harvest vegetable storage in normal temperature, uses non-toxic Vitamin B2 spray solution as a photosensitizer and flashlight to inactivate microbes on food surfaces, effectively kills food pathogens, and can effectively store vegetables for extended periods, making it a useful food storage protocol in colder regions and high altitudes for armed forces. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for disinfecting vegetables, which comprises incubating vegetables to be disinfected for 30-minute to 1 hour in the presence of photosensitizers followed by irradiation at 1 * 108 rate.
