| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The method involves identifying the challenges faced by sugarcane farmers in terms of water availability and crop yield, and then coming up with innovative solutions to address these challenges. The precision irrigation techniques such as drip irrigation, micro- sprinklers, and subsurface drip irrigation can be used to deliver water directly to the roots of the sugarcane plants. USE - Method for performing an idea generation process for an optimized drip irrigation system, i.e Arduino-based smart drip irrigation system for sugarcane plants in an agricultural sector. Uses include but are not limited to tomatoes, peppers and onions. ADVANTAGE - The use of soil moisture sensor enable the farmers to determine when the soil needs to be irrigated, and how much water is required, thus prevents the over-irrigation, which can lead to water wastage and reduced crop yield. The Farmers can adopt sustainable water management practices such as rainwater harvesting, water recycling, and wastewater treatment to reduce dependence on groundwater and surface water sources, and ensure a reliable supply of water for irrigation.
