成果简介NOVELTY - Light-propelled microstructure (100) comprises an elongated cylindrical body (1) coupled with a sphere head (2) that operated in a fluid medium in presence of light; the elongated cylindrical body acts a tail and is composed of a combination of semiconductor materials having a plural of activation zones and facilitates propulsion towards the spherical silica head and stability within the fluid medium; and the microstructure interact with light and moves according to the propulsion provided by the elongated cylindrical body. USE - Light-propelled microstructure used as local fluid mixer in microfluidic devices. ADVANTAGE - The light-propelled microstructure, exhibiting multimode propulsion, and is capable of providing translational and rotational motion in a fluid environment. The microstructure as a local fluid mixer in microfluidic devices that facilitate efficient mixing of reagents for improving the speed and accuracy of chemical reactions for diagnostics or analysis. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing a light light-propelled microstructure which involves: (a) depositing a monolayer of a pre-defined amount of silica particles over a substrate; and (b) transferring the substrate to an e-beam evaporation chamber for growing an elongated cylindrical body for obtaining the light propelled microstructure.
