ADVANTAGE - The composition comprises cost-effective raw materials, and has the ability to maintain consistent physicochemical properties and quality across larger production batches, and optimizes manufacturing processes to enhance yield and efficiency at an industrial level. The absorption kinetics in cardanol-polyol solutions can be enhanced by incorporating physical promoter such as petroleum ether, thus expanding the potential applications of this new class of solvents. The gas-liquid mass transfer process into solutions of the cardanol-polyol-based absorbent was examined, revealing that carbon dioxide reacts with this absorbent through a pathway similar to that of existing amines, such as monoethanolamine and diethanolamine. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a method for preparing the absorbent composition, which involves pulverizing cashew nut shells to obtain a homogenous powder, extracting cardanol from the powder using methanol as a solvent, and synthesizing a cardanol-based Mannich bio-solvent by reacting cardanol with an aldehyde compound and an organic poly-based diamine; and (2) a process for removing acidic compounds from industrial gas streams, which involves contacting the industrial gas stream with the absorbent composition, where the absorbent effectively captures acidic compounds such as carbon dioxide |
