Patient’s blood serum is examined for the level of leptin by enzyme immunoassay. If the blood serum leptin value is 13 ng/ml and more, the presence of hepatic steatosis is diagnosed in overweight or obese postmenopausal women. If the leptin level is less than 13 ng/ml, there is no hepatic steatosis. USE - Medicine.
