成果简介NOVELTY - Graphene assisted surface plasmon resonance (SPR) based refractive index sensor (100) comprises a glass substrate (106). A metal layer (104) is deposited on the glass substrate. A metal grating (102) having grooves (112) are filled with a semiconductor material (110) and the metal grating is patterned onto the metal layer for excitation of the surface plasmon (SP), and a graphene layer (108) is coated on top of the metal grating to enhance the adsorption of the analyte molecules. USE - SPR sensing is extensively utilized in diverse fields, such as medical diagnostics, biosensing, virus detection, chemical sensing, and environmental monitoring. ADVANTAGE - The SPR based refractive index sensor detects the dengue virus by monitoring the shift of SPR dip due to the change in the refractive index of analytes. The graphene layer also helps to prevent the corrosion and oxidation of the considered metals. The SPR based refractive index sensor provides dengue virus detection, where metallic grating grooves are filled with Indium Tin Oxide (ITO), and a graphene film is placed on top of the metallic grating functioning as a protective layer.
