At 4-6 weeks of life, intestinal microbiota is examined in the child’s stool by 16s rRNA gene sequencing. If observing bacteria of the genus Erysipelatoclostridium in relative representation of more than 3.5% in the intestinal microbiota, a high risk of developing atopic dermatitis is predicted.
