成果简介NOVELTY - Biodiesel production involves preheating oil, mixing alcohol and catalyst, performing a transesterification reaction for 60 minutes using a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor (tank-1), methanol recovery using flash evaporator (tank-2), and gravity separation, washing with deionized water, and then drying the biodiesel. USE - Method for producing biodiesel from non-edible oil using a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor. ADVANTAGE - The cavitation device provides better results compared to existing cavitation devices such as orifice and venturi devices. The obtained yield is greater than 95%. The method consumes less time and energy than other conventional and cavitation techniques. The method shows the energy-efficient, environment-friendly, time-efficient, and cost-efficient technique for biodiesel production from different feedstocks at an industrial/pilot scale. The produced biodiesel matches the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and European Standard (EN) standards (≥ 96.5% biodiesel yield).
