成果简介NOVELTY - The platform has a microfluidic optical cell comprising a base made from a poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet (202). Inlet and outlet ports (204) are attached to the base using disposable needles. A perforated channel (212) is positioned on the base to allow fluid flow. A transmission electron microscopy (TEM) grid (210) is mounted with liquid crystal (LC) molecules. A hydrophilic film (206) is attached to a cover glass (208). The platform provides label-free detection by measuring changes in birefringence patterns of an LC layer when biomolecules or chemical species interact with an LC-aqueous interface. USE - LC-based label-free low-cost sensing platform for detecting biomolecules or chemical species. ADVANTAGE - The platform not requires complex and extensive chemical preparatory steps.
