成果简介NOVELTY - Producing banana fiber rich blended yarns involves extracting banana fiber which involves in the removal of outer sheaths from pseudo stems, stripping out the inner leaf sheath, and separating the sheaths from the fiber extracting machine, and pretreating where the banana fiber is initially cut into pieces with approximately 1-1.5 inches lengths, and the banana fiber is treated with a 15 wt.% alkali (NaOH) concentration M:L ratio of 1: 50 at room temperature for 24 hours, bleaching (103) the alkali-treated banana fibers with 20 wt.% concentration of H2O2 at the temperature of 70℃ for a time period of 45 minutes to obtain soft, flexible, and spinnable fiber, and (d) blending bleached banana fibers with viscose in the ratio ranging between 0-80 % to obtain banana fiber-rich blended yarn. USE - Method for producing banana fiber rich blended yarns. ADVANTAGE - The method emphasizes the viability of banana fiber as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative in the textile sector, and pertains to the softening of inflexible banana fibers, the production of banana fiber-enriched blended yarns, and the enhancement of yarn spinnability.
