成果简介NOVELTY - Nano-structured pearlitic steel comprises 0.64 -0.72 wt.% carbon, 1.6-2.15 wt.% aluminum, 0.30-0.6 wt.% chromium, 3.05-3.5 wt.% cobalt, 1.5-2 wt.% manganese, 0.0.28 -0.4 wt.% molybdenum, 0.7- 1.1 wt.% silicon, less than 0.006 wt.% phosphorus, less than 0.0011 wt.% sulfur and balanced amount of iron. USE - Nano-structured pearlitic steel for railway rails. ADVANTAGE - The steel has high strength, wear resistance, and specific toughness, and enhanced railway efficiency and safety. The steel is manufactured in a simple and cost-effective manner with high yield strength, and has excellent fracture toughness and mechanical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for making nano-structured pearlitic steel, which involves preparing steel ingots, homogenizing the steel ingots between 950-1050℃ for a period of 48-72 hours, hot rolling the ingot at temperature ranging between 950-1050℃ for 50-80 minutes, austenitizing the rolled steel between 50 minutes to 80 minutes at temperatures ranging between 975-1025°C, transforming the austenitized steel isothermally at 600-550°C for a period between 4-4.5 hours and cooling the transformed steel to obtain the nano-structured pearlitic steel, where nano-structured pearlitic steel comprises 0.64 -0.72 wt.% carbon, 1.6-2.15 wt.% aluminum, 0.30-0.6 wt.% chromium, 3.05-3.5 wt.% cobalt, 1.5-2 wt.% manganese, 0.0.28 -0.4 wt.% molybdenum, 0.7- 1.1 wt.% silicon, less than 0.006 wt.% phosphorus, less than 0.0011 wt.% sulfur and balanced amount of iron.
