| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Synthesizing garlic-platinum nanoparticles (GPtNPs) comprises: preparing a garlic extract by grinding fresh cloves of Himalayan garlic to a paste; dissolving 30 g paste in 300 ml sterile distilled water to form a suspension; performing maceration of the suspension in a shaking incubator at 37℃ and at 100 rpm; filtering through Whatmann No. 1 filter paper to obtain the garlic extract; preparing GPtNPs by mixing the garlic extract with 1 mM hexachloroplatinic acid hexahydrate solution in a ratio of 1:9; incubating at room temperature for 24 hours; centrifuging at 8000 rpm for 20 minutes at 4℃ to form pellets; and washing and drying the pellets at 60℃ to form GPtNPs. USE - Method for synthesizing garlic-platinum nanoparticles (GPtNPs) for formulation for countering plant pathogens, inhibiting the growth of plant-borne bacterial pathogens at 30-70 µg/ml, and suppressing the biofilm development in plant-borne bacterial pathogens at 7-65 µg/ml (claimed). No biological data given. ADVANTAGE - The formulation has minimal side effects, does not lead to antibiotic resistance. The GPtNPs are effective in reducing biofilm formation by 34-88% and reduce growth rate by 48-69% in plant pathogen infections; are less toxic thus reducing the accumulation of toxicity in the treated plant when compared to silver nanoparticles.
